Not quite an empty nester

As a Mum of teenagers we always had an "open door" policy ...... any of my children's friends were welcome and they would often just walk in with a bright and breezy "hello" and feel at home.

Both girls have now moved out and Dan is currently on holiday, so hubby and I were having a lazy Sunday morning lie in. I had got up at about 9ish to let the cat in (this bit is important so remember that) and feed both cat and dog .....made a fresh cup of coffee and took us both a cup, up to bed.

Greg popped downstairs a bit later to make us an Omelette - which we also enjoyed in bed.

At about 11ish I got in the bath, Greg had shouted to me that he would have a bath after me and in the meantime was sorting some bits and bobs in the office upstairs ... naked .... I was in the bath with the door wide open conversing with him.

Suddenly we heard a voice "just popped in to borrow some of Dan's X-Box games" (remember the cat ...... I had left the door unlocked !!!)

ARRGGHHHHHH ..... "STOP RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE - do not move a muscle"

To get to Dan's room he would have to go past both the office (Gina's old room) and the bathroom - with the door wide open!

Dan's best bud tactfully retreated calling out ....."just backing down the stairs ......let me know when it is safe to come up"

Greg hurriedly put on some jeans and raced to close the bathroom door, at which point Kieran sauntered up the stairs and we carried on with a casual conversation regarding his new digs for Uni ....................................Loved it !!!

No ..... we are not yet empty nesters !!!!!
